Patriotic Trifle Recipe - Simple & Festive

Take a look at this delicious Patriotic Trifle recipe!Need a patriotic dessert to take to a picnic or party? Trifle recipes are simple to make and you can change the ingredients to fit the occasion.  Since I wanted to make one that was red, white and blue I added some yummy ingredients to make this patriotic trifle.Follow our directions so you make this delicious trifle recipe.

Patriotic Trifle Ingredients:

• Cake - you can use any flavor you like {I chose lemon, but vanilla or pound cake would work great too!}
• Cool Whip - 1 large container or 2 small containers
• 1 Box Vanilla Instant Pudding
• Strawberries
• Blueberries

Patriotic Trifle Directions:

If you chose to make the cake then you will need to start by preparing the cake and letting it cool. If you have store bought then move on to the making the pudding {follow directions on box}. Next, cut your strawberries. Once all of your ingredients are ready you can start layering the trifle bowl.I always begin with the cake because it creates a nice base for the trifle and makes it easier to cut and serve. I like to just break the cake up and fill the bottom of the trifle bowl, but you can cut large pieces too. Then, add the layers to the trifle. If you want this to look more like a flag you can hold off on the blueberries and only put them on the top of the trifle.

• Layer of Cake
• Layer of Vanilla Pudding
• Layer of Cool Whip
• Layer of Strawberries
• Layer of Cake
• Layer of Vanilla Pudding
• Layer of Cool Whip
• Layer of Blueberries
• Repeat {if needed}

You can make the top however you want it to look. Below you will see you can center it with all blueberries or add some strawberries to the middle.You can switch up the layers however you like best. I also put some into small dessert shooter as well!
