If you are just getting started, there are a few different ways that you can make the baby food. Before you start to prepare the food, please make sure that all food is properly cleaned, cooked and stored. This will help reduce contamination and food-borne illnesses. You want to follow the same practices you would for your own food. You can steam, boil or bake the baby food.Bake - to bake food for your baby all you need to do is place the vegetable, fruit or meat onto a baking sheet or baking dish and bake for the desired amount of time.
Steam - when you steam baby food you need to have a steamer basket and a saucepan. Pour water into the bottom of the saucepan and put the steamer basket on top. You can then add the food and cover. Allow the water to boil and cook food throughly. You can tell by the consistency when it is done. If it is soft and you can easily poke with a fork.Boil - boiling baby food is simple. I use a simple food processor that we received when we got married, but you can use a blender, hand mixer, baby bullet or any other food processor on the market. To puree the baby food you can cut the food into smaller pieces before adding them to the food processor. I like to add water to make sure the homemade baby food us runny and the perfect consistency for my son.Depending on the age of your baby you want to make sure the food is not too thick or has any chunks of leftover food in it when you serve it to your child.
