Stress-Free Holiday Baking with Kids
Thank you to Nestle Toll House for sponsoring this post so that we could make these reindeer cookies. All opinions are 100% mine.
My kids love helping out in the kitchen especially when it comes to baking. With the holidays right around the corner I am baking a lot for all of our parties. I always try to include my kids as much as I can because they enjoy all the little tasks like measuring, pouring and stirring. I sometimes have a hard time finding recipes that they can do a lot of it by themselves. My boys are constantly saying to me "Let me do it myself!" I wanted to make an easy cookie recipe that they would be able to not only have fun with but use their creativity to complete.
So, I decided to make these holiday cutout cookies using Nestle Toll House Rolled Cookie Sheets. Even though gingerbread is a classic holiday flavor I normally do not make any kind of gingerbread cookies. I knew these would be perfect for making with my kids because they could easily cut out the shapes of the cookies and decorate them how they want to.
Nestle Toll House Rolled Cookie Sheets make baking so easy! All I had to do was remove the cookie dough sheets and place on a flat surface. We used a cutting board underneath. My boys then used this reindeer cookie cutter we had to cut out the shapes of the cookies. There will be excess dough so you can use it to make a few other cookies by rolling it up and flattening onto your cookie sheet. Bake in the oven according to the directions on the packaging. It varies depending on the size of your cookie cutter.
After the cookies fully cooled we were ready to decorate! Connor and Mason has so much fun decorating their cookies. They made a variety of cookies and I even wrote their initials on a few of them.
