Road Trip With Toddlers - Activity Kits
Planning a road trip with toddlers can be stressful. If you take some time to plan ahead you will be able to alleviate some of your anxiety. Below you will find the activity kits that I made and what we put into them for our kids.
Planning a Road Trip with Toddlers
For our long road trip this year I made each of our boys a small activity kit to keep them busy in the car. We are headed to the beach and our total drive time to reach our destination is 9 1/2 hours. I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to the drive. Being 8 months pregnant and traveling with a 3 year old and a 2 year old is a lot of work. This will be our first long road trip now that our older son is potty trained so I am sure we will have many more bathroom breaks this year.I decided to make each of my boys a small little kit to give them once they become ancy in the car. I thought it would be nice to give them something that will hopefully keep them busy for a little while at a time. Since they are much younger I was not sure what to put in our road trip with toddlers activity pouch. I was able to pick up the items in the dollar section at Target. Even if these items only keeps them occupied for a few minutes at a time I will be pretty excited! Here is what I put in their kits.
Road Trip with Toddlers Activities:
- Washable Maker Pouch - This is made for older kids because it comes with math problems on it but I can stick in some coloring book pages and I know they will be thrilled to be using markers on it.
- Monters University Activity Set - This set came with stickers, crayons and a small activity book. Both of my kids love stickers.
- Etch-A-Sketch - We were given these as a gift for the holidays and I thought they would be perfect to use in the car.
- Flash Cards - These flash cards have both shapes and numbers on them and will be fun to make a game out of finding the ones that they already know.
Although a road trip with toddlers will be long, the fun they will have at the beach will make it worth it.You can also check out Traveling with Kids - Preventing Boredom, Ways to Save Money on Vacations and 1o Summer Savings Tips.
