Homemade Lip Balm Recipe
I have an addiction to chapstick and lip balm. I hate when my lips feel dry, so I decided to make my own homemade peppermint lip balm with my essential oils. Not only is it EXTREMELY affordable, but it is amazing! Now I can say bye-bye to store bought chapstick.I was excited when I found these cute containers in the dollar section at Target when I was shopping the other day. Actually, it is what gave me the idea to make this homemade chapstick. Below you will find the super easy instructions so you can make this too.
Ingredients for Homemade Lip Balm:
- Small Container {these are plastic, which you should normally use glass with essential oils, but since I know I will use it quickly it will be fine}
- 2 tbsp of coconut oil
- 0.5 oz (1 tbsp.) of Beeswax
- 10 drops of Peppermint oil {you can choose a citrus oil as well, but be careful with sun exposure when using citrus}
Directions for Homemade Lip Balm:
- Boil a small pot of water and melt the coconut oil, honey and beeswax in a glass bowl on top.
- Remove from heat and stir. Add the essential oil(s) and stir.
- Pour the liquid mixture into your containers and let set up. You can place them into the refrigerator to allow them to harden quicker.
It cost about $1 to make 3 of these homemade lip balms. Not only can you save money, but they are non-toxic and made with all-natural products.
