BEST Sweet & Salty Family Movie Night Snack

It can be difficult trying to keep your kids entertained especially throughout the Summer months when most kids are home all day.One way that I love spending quality time together is by planning a nice night family movie night. Not only do we get to stay home and relax, but my boys love cuddling up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and a good movie. They were beyond excited to see the new Rio 2 movie, so the day it was released on DVD we had to go and buy it at Walmart.

My kids favorite snack for family movie night is candy popcorn. It is a really easy and delicious snack to make and also a fun way to add sweet flavor to your popcorn. The best part is you can add many different toppings to the popcorn to make it how your family prefers.

Here is what you will need to make Candy Popcorn:

• 1 Bag Pop Secret Popcorn - comes in a variety of flavors to pick what your family likes best {use $1 off Pop Secret coupon while supplies last}
• 1 Bag of Chocolate Melting Wafers {we had blue}
• Optional – Sprinkles or other toppings

To start, follow the cooking instructions on the bag of popcorn. Next, in a small bowl pour about half of the wafers into a microwave safe bowl and heat for about 30 seconds at a time. Stir until the wafers are completely melted.

Now you are ready to pour the melted chocolate on top of the popcorn. Once all the chocolate is on top you can add any kind of toppings you enjoy eating like sprinkles, chocolate chips, candy, etc. This is my kids favorite part!

You will not believe how delicious this is on top of the pop corn! It is the perfect combination of salty and sweet!

Now that we had everything ready we invited my niece and nephew over to enjoy our delicious Pop Secret candy popcorn snack and new movie Rio 2.

To say they enjoyed the movie would be an understatement. All of the kids could not get enough of the popcorn and laughed throughout the entire movie. Surprisingly, they sat nicely {together} for the majority of it. It is hard picking a movie that they will all enjoy to watch, but Rio 2 was a huge hit especially with our delicious popcorn snack.
