What to pack in a diaper bag? Planning and getting ready for a new baby can be difficult when you do not know exactly what you need of the baby. Below you will find a list of the top 14 items we recommend having in your diaper bag.
What To Pack In A Diaper Bag
Since our new little one is set to arrive in a few weeks I am starting to plan the items that I will now need to pack in our diaper bag for him. I often forget how much stuff you need for a newborn. Since I already have 2 boys my diaper bag is constantly being stuffed with useless items that we do not need. I am always struggling with how heavy it can get because it is full of junk.To prepare for the baby I came up with a list of our must have items for both the new baby and my other 2 children.
What To Pack In A Diaper Bag: Top 14 Items
- Diapers
- Wipes
- Diaper Cream
- Disposable Bag – I often found myself changing a diaper someplace where I could not dispose of it.
- Changing Pad
- Bottle/Formula or Other feeding necessities
- Bib
- Sippy Cup
- Hand Sanitizer
- Bottle of Water
- Small Toy
- First Aid Kit
- Burp Rag/Small Blanket for Baby
- Extra Clothes – I know when my boys were younger they would often leak through their outfits and now that we have 1 potty trained I always like to have an extra set of underwear and pants.
- Small Snacks
Depending on the ages of your children you might not need everything on this list. I know as my boys got older we took less and less items with us. I would also suggest having a few back-up items in your car to use as necessary. This way you are not lugging it around with you everywhere you go but you have it just in case. For example, this would include items like sunscreen, hats, Kleenex, extra diapers, etc. We currently use a Diaper Bag like this one because it is easy to just throw on and carry than one that goes on your shoulder. Also, my husband does not mind carrying it because it is just solid black.
