Sweet and Sour Meatballs Crockpot - Kid Favorite
Sweet & sour crockpot Meatballs ... YUM!!
Sweet and Sour Meatballs
These sweet and sour meatballs are extremely easy to make. You only need 3 ingredients.
I finally found a recipe that my picky two year old will eat! I honestly feel like it is a constant battle trying to cook foods that he enjoys.
My husband and I have a difficult time getting him to try new foods, especially meat.
I love that this recipe is inexpensive to make because my family and I have been wasting a TON of money on food, and I know it is because I do not use a meal plan. Recently, I came across the $5 Meal Plan. It only costs $5 a month and you will get meal plans sent straight to you along with a shopping list for those meals. WOW!
Could it get any easier?
I was thrilled when I made these Sweet and Sour Meatballs in the crockpot and he not only tried them but actually asked for more. Did you know they make a Wifi-Enabled Crockpot! Yes, WiFi enabled!! Check it out!
Sweet and Sour Meatballs Ingredients:
As you can see from the picture this recipe does not require a lot.
Frozen Meatballs
Jelly {1 1/2 cups}
Ketchup {1 1/2 cups}
If you like spicier foods you can add a little bit of chilli sauce as well. Since I wanted this to be simple I used frozen meatballs, but you can use homemade meatballs too.
Sweet and Sour Meatballs Directions:
I love easy dinner recipes and this is definitely a simple dinner. Combine the jelly and ketchup into a mixing bowl and stir.
Next, put the meatballs into the crockpot and add the sauce over top. I like to mix it up so that the meatballs are evenly coated. You can either cook it for 3-4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.
My crockpot is extremely hot so mine were done in about 3 hours
.You can serve these with rice, mashed potatoes or noodles. I was not sure if my kids were going to like them so I added a toothpick for them to use.
I am not sure if it was the novelty of the toothpick, but I was shocked when they both tried the sweet and sour meatballs. These sweet and sour meatballs are definitely a family favorite that I will be making again.
