Simple Football Brownies - The Perfect Game Day Dessert
Ooey gooey baked box brownies with sweet chocolate frosting was the perfect dessert for my family on game day. Even though our hometown team lost, we still had fun planning for the game and celebrating together.
I come from a big family, so when we get together every Sunday there are sixteen people total. I am always in charge of the desserts because they all know I am a horrible cook, but, I don’t mind because I have a major sweet tooth. Having a dessert that will satisfy that many people is not always easy.
Luckily, I always stock-up my cupboards so that I am prepared. This is especially true through the colder months of winter. If you are from Pennsylvania, like me, then you know it is essential to stock up and be ready before the next snow storm arrives.
Since I knew I would be in charge of dessert for our Game Day celebrations I headed to our local Walmart and picked up Pillsbury™ Brownie Mixes and Frostings. You can take advantage of this Ibotta coupon so that you too save when you stock-up on Pillsbury™ products at Walmart.
One of my favorite parts of planning for a party is baking with my kids. On this day in particular, my youngest helped me to bake our delicious brownies. It is nice when I get to have that one-on-one time with each of my boys.
He felt really proud of himself knowing that he got to be my special helper and bake with just me. It is fun watching him grow-up and I love making these memories together in the kitchen.
Each step of the baking process was exciting to him. I liked that the recipe was easy and inexpensive. Having only a few ingredients makes it easier to bake when your partner is only two years old.
These football brownies were very simply to make. First, we followed the baking instructions on the back of the Pillsbury™ Chocolate Fudge Brownies box. Next, we used the Pillsbury™ Chocolate icing and iced each brownie.
To go along with the football theme of the game day celebration we used white icing to make the stitches of a football.
Once they were finished Evan was eager to try the final product, so he and I enjoyed one together before the rest of our family arrived for the game day party.
The brownies were definitely a hit and I am sad to say that we did not have any leftover. But, make sure you come back for another Pillsbury™ Brownie idea that I will be sharing on my blog soon for Valentine’s Day - you won’t want to miss it.
How will you #MixUpAMoment with your family on Game Day?
