You must be 18 years or older to have an account. Before signing-up make sure you have taken high-quality photos. Stock photo websites will sell your photo in different sizes so you want to make sure that the photo is clear and an ideal image. There are a TON of stock photo websites, here are a few you can check out to start selling stock photos.
iStock - They will pay a contributor a base royalty of 15% for each file downloaded with iStock. As an exclusive contributor you can earn up to 45%.
Bigstock - This site will pay based upon the customer's selection of payment plan and the size of the file downloaded. You can potentially earn 30% of the amount received per partner sale.
Deposit Photos - Depending on the level of contributor you are on this site your income per photo will vary.

If you do not already have a DSLR camera I would not recommend going out to purchase one just or the sake of selling stock photos. You do not want to invest a lot of money to get started. This is a nice side job that you can do if you already have the equipment.
