Homemade Candy Dots Recipe
Do you remember eating candy dots when you were younger? Now you can enjoy this fun and EASY treat with your kids! It only uses 3-ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry to make homemade candy dots.
Not only do I love how inexpensive it is to make this recipe, but you do not need to bake it or cook it. My boys love helping me in the kitchen so this is the perfect recipe. Below you can follow the easy directions to make homemade candy dots with your kids by using this free printable layout sheet.
Homemade Candy Dots Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 Pasteurized Egg White
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- Food Coloring {I have also seen this recipe made with Kool-Aid packets instead of food coloring}
Homemade Candy Dots Recipe Directions:
- Whisk egg white until frothy, or mix with hand-mixer.
- Slowly add powdered sugar until peaks form
- Divide equally into as many bowls as you want to color. So, if you have 4 colors separate mixture into 4 equal parts.
- Add one drop of color at a time to each bowl to achieve desired color.
- Mix until color is uniform. Transfer each color to a zippered sandwich bag.
- Print template and place under each paper you will be piping onto. Clip a very small tip off of one corner of each bag and pipe dots onto unprinted sheets.
- Allow to set for 2 hours before cutting strips apart.
