Frugal Living Tips

Frugal Living can sometimes be mistaken for being cheap. I have been asked numerous times why I am a Frugal Fanatic or choose to live a frugal lifestyle. Not only does it help my family save money for the future, but it allows us to spend our money where we want to because we cut back where we can.

Frugal Living Tips

When someone says frugal lifestyle, most think cheap. Well just because you have a frugal lifestyle does not always mean you only buy and do things cheaply. It just means you are smart and think ahead. If you are looking for ideas so that you can live a frugal lifestyle here are a few tips.

Frugal Living:

Plan ahead:When you see a great deal on something buy it! Even if it is something like a great deal on toilet tissue and you have 40 rolls at home. Stock up! By doing that you are sure to keep your self from ever paying retail. I know is might seem ridiculous to buy items when you do not need them, but it is better to buy them at a low price then to pay more when you are out of a specific item.Use Coupons:I know most of you already do this but to what degree? When I say use coupons I am not just talking about groceries. Use them on things like eating out, buying clothing, taking trips and just about whatever else you buy. There are so many coupons that are available for everything. This way you can still indulge in the finer things of life like eating out but don't have to empty the wallet to do so. If you have not yet read our Beginner's Guide to Couponing it is a great place to start.Conserve:A big savings tip for having a frugal lifestyle is to conserve. For example, when you have to make a trip to the store make sure you have a list and get everything you need. If you need to mail a letter or return a video do it all in one trip. By cutting down on the trips you make you are conserving and the savings really add up for time and money. Another great way to conserve is to remember the simple things such as turning off a light, TV, computer, radio or whatever else you may have used when it is not in use. Those few pennies you save by turning them off really add up over the year.
