Fall Baby Shower Diaper Cake Tutorial
This diaper cake costs about $15 total to make! You can even use the leftover decorations for around your house like the plates, ribbon, rafia, and silk leaves.
Fall Baby Shower Diaper Cake Supplies:
- 2” ribbon
- Bag of rafia
- Bag of silk leaves
- 4 pack plastic plates
- Plastic pumpkin with floral decorations
Fall Baby Shower Diaper Cake Directions:
To make the cake form follow the step by step diaper cake tutorial. Wrap sheer ribbon around center of cake, secure overlapping ribbon with hot glue. Use 2-3 pieces of rafia the way you would ribbon, wrap around cake, tying a bow in front. If your bow will not stay straight (some rafia is stiff and doesn’t lay as nicely as ribbon) secure with a dot or two of hot glue.
Fall Baby Shower Diaper Cake - Creating the Plate
Tuck silk leaves randomly throughout between rafia and wide ribbon. To create the base I used a plastic plate from a 4 pack. Run a thin line of hot glue a few inches at a time about 1/8” from the edge of plate, press the stem end of leaves into glue, continue all the way around. Place beneath cake form. For the topper I simply bought the pre-decorated pumpkin from my local dollar store and hot glued it to the cap of bottle of baby lotion stuck in the top layer. What do you think?
