Evan's Newborn Nursery
I know I am really behind on posting since Evan is already 5 weeks old, but the past month has flew by really fast. Although I never got to 100% finish the nursery this is going to have to do for now. I had big plans for making a few other items in his nursery but my time is extremely limited now. I am still really happy with the way it turned out and would like to share it with all of you!I had a hard time finding everything I wanted for his nursery. I wanted to keep it simple and just use different patterns and designs. The three main colors for his nursery are blue, gray and orange. My husband started the nursery by painting one accent wall with thick blue and white stripes. Here is a full tutorial on How To Paint A Striped Wall if you are interested in doing it for your baby's nursery.Luckily, we did not have to buy any new furniture because we had it from our oldest son. I was able to use our rocking chair, crib, dresser and changing table. Since the room gets a lot of sunlight I did not want to cover it up with thick curtains so I used the valence that came with the baby bedding and then hung shears on on the windows. To add a little bit of color I used some orange polka dot material I had to tie them together in the center.Since I did not really have a nursery theme I added a few elephant accents to the room.Above our changing table we hung a Dr. Seuss themed picture. I absolutely love this picture! I bought it from Yassi's Place on etsy.I bought this Gray and White Diamond Grey Geometric Baby Bedding. I honestly did not want to buy the bedding as a whole because they always come with pieces that I do not use, but I could not find anything I wanted. You cant see in the picture, but we also bought orange polka dot sheets from Target. I think it will look better once we lower the crib because you will be able to see the sheet in-between. I also bought white bretheable bumpers for Evan's crib. I also bought this really cute elephant picture from etsy by DallowayPlaceKids. If you look really close you can see that I have not yet replaced the pictures in the frames! We were able to hang these three small mirrors next to the windows that we bought from Ikea. I cannot wait for Evan to use his nursery!
