Even though my kids are young, my husband and I are always trying to teach them the value of a dollar. It is hard for a child to understand the concept of money, but it is important for them to learn about earning money to work towards a goal. Many kids are eager to do work to make money for items they want to purchase like new toys or clothes, but they are too young to get an actual job.Below I have put together a list of 15 side jobs that kids can do. Some of these may seem obvious, while others you may have never even considered. If your child is under the legal age of getting a job think of other ways that they can earn money like these side jobs.

1. There are many dogs in the neighborhood whose owners are working during the day. Go around the neighborhood putting up fliers advertising your child's new dog walking service. They get to take their furry friends on a walk and get paid for it. Make sure your child knows about leash laws and picking up after the dogs that they will be walking.2. An old fashioned lemonade stand is still a great way for your child to earn some money especially if they are young. Sugar and lemons are pretty inexpensive and when mixed with water they make a refreshing lemonade. Help your child set up a stand and make a sign to advertise. Put up some fliers so people know the lemonade stand is open for business.3. Mowing lawns is another great side job for kids. Go door to door with your child or put up fliers advertising the lawn mowing service. You would be surprised at how much money your child can earn mowing lawns.4. If you have a golf course in your area, your child can be a golf caddy and earn some extra cash. The job is pretty simple and involves helping golfers with retrieving balls, carrying and switching clubs and also giving some moral support. Your child can make extra cash by helping elderly or busy neighbors clean their houses.
