Even though my kids are young, my husband and I are always trying to teach them the value of a dollar. It is hard for a child to understand the concept of money, but it is important for them to learn about earning money to work towards a goal. Many kids are eager to do work to make money for items they want to purchase like new toys or clothes, but they are too young to get an actual job.Below I have put together a list of 15 side jobs that kids can do. Some of these may seem obvious, while others you may have never even considered. If your child is under the legal age of getting a job think of other ways that they can earn money like these side jobs.

1. There are many dogs in the neighborhood whose owners are working during the day. Go around the neighborhood putting up fliers advertising your child's new dog walking service. They get to take their furry friends on a walk and get paid for it. Make sure your child knows about leash laws and picking up after the dogs that they will be walking.2. An old fashioned lemonade stand
6. Your child can earn some money by collecting and recycling used cans. Ask friends and family to save their cans and you can help your child pick them up every few days. This is great for another great option for younger kids.7. Delivering newspapers is a great way for your child to earn some spending money. They will probably need your help with this unless you have an older child with a bike that can do it on their own.8. It's no secret that our pets are family. Sometimes, we have to go away for a few days and leave our fur babies behind. This is the perfect opportunity for your child to make some cash by pet sitting.9. 13. When the weather starts to get warmer, people begin having garage sales. Your child can be a garage sale helper. They can assist in setting up the tables and items for sale. Your child can make extra cash by helping elderly or busy neighbors clean their houses.
